Dear Diary,
Thanksgiving was fun this year. This was the second time I've had Thanksgiving at home since 1997. I started out at my parents' house with Uncle Stan, Aunt Cheryl, Cousin Kevin, his wife Rebekah, Mom, Dad, Erik, and Nick. Good food and good company for dinner. After Nick and I went to his grandparents' house for dessert and more good company. Mike, Richard's partner, was there. It was good to see him. Much of the talk was about baby Tristan and Nick's cousin's two-year old son who is in the hospital with a brain tumor. He's expected to be okay.
There was an attempt to rent Up, the movie, that evening as I still haven't seen it. It, of course was rented out. We saw Year One instead. Well, mom spent while Nick and I watched. Basically a good Thanksgiving.
Yesterday, I spent much of it with Nick just hanging out with Italian for dinner. Today, I got to talk to Beth in Tikrit, Iraq, and Johanne in Ashod, Israel. I used my parents' webcam on my laptop. Yay. Tonight there should be Thai for dinner with cake for dessert. Tomorrow it's back to work. Right now, I'm sandwiched on the couch by a sleeping cat and a sleeping dog.
And I think I'm going to get up and grab some more leftovers.

Timely Update
Dear Diary,
Nick pointed out that I haven't update my blog in a while. I pointed out that I haven't had time to goof around on the computer. Life's been busy. The days I work I'm too tired to spend much time online and the days I don't work I'm usually not home.
Things of interest:
I'm off modified and back at work. It's very stressful. When they say that you will feel like you're drowning for the first year, they mean it. I have one coworker who has been an awesome support. The system is designed for me to actually get more support from other staff, but... yeah, it doesn't tend to happen for whatever reasons.
On the 23rd of October, Nick's cousin passed away in his sleep. 37, no major health concerns, it was difinitely not expected. I've tried to be there as a support as best I can. Nick and Richard were really close.
The days leading up to Halloween, I went out to Stockton where Trish, Katie, and Kathy were all up for the weekend. It was good to see them and the rest of the girls: Jess, Nicole, Lori, and Carmen. Katie looks like she's doing well managing her pain. She has an appointment with her neurosurgen later this month. Kathy looks like she's doing well, too. She was on the up swing of her health cycle revolving around her chemo. She tires easily, but was able to get out and do some stuff. As I said, it was good to see them.
For Halloween I didn't do much. It happened to be the day before Richard's memorial service. I tried to be available to help the family where I could, but for the most part, we all just hung out. Jeffy did teach me how to make fudge. I did, however, dress up. I went as Penny, from Inspector Gadget. I very happily now own green cargo pants, and had Lori cut me some bangs. The red shirt with the white stripe was more of an experiment. Still, I was cute.
November 4th, Nick's sister had her baby, Tristin Tyrus Patten. He's super cute. Alex seems like she's having fun being a mom. I'm loving all the cute stuff she has for him, and of course his tiny little toes and fingers.
And, I think that about brings us up to date.
Though I need to give a quick shout out to Brittany, my NC cousin. It's her birthday tomorrow.
