Dear Diary,
So far, there have been over 600 reported deaths in Oceana and Southeast Asia due to earthquakes, tsunamis, and hurricanes. In the next week, I imagine that number will grow much, much larger. It makes me even more entertained by people’s reaction when I say what happened to me.
Update from my last entry: I started with Seneca Center at the end of August. There were two weeks of training, then a week of mentorship, then I started work.
So, I’m at the house as full staff for two weeks, then there’s an ‘incident.’ In short, I was attacked by a client while unable to deflect it. Don’t try to judge or understand it. There are a lot of details that I’m leaving out for confidentiality reasons.
So I’m on modified duty thanks to a strained neck and some nerve damage to my right hand (it’s getting better, though). My black eye is gone though.
When I tell people at work about what happened, the reaction is always the same: shock, pity, sympathies. Trust me, I’m fine. I was pretty freaked out right after it happened, but now I just want to get back to real work instead of looking for some envelopes or binders to be mindlessly filled in the admin offices. I still have a job, I still have a place to live (actually I have two right now if I wanted to crash at my parents’. It’s weird being so close to home). Thousands have lost that in the last two days. Let's keep everything in perspective.
